I am looking at expanding my garage/ workshop tooling with a small lathe, need a 5inch height so I can turn 10'' items, looking at a Boxford aud, thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello Glenn and welcome. I am the previous owner of several Austin Sevens from the 20's & 30's and also the owner of a Boxford AUD which I've had for years and wouldn't want to change.

Welcome along Glenn from an old Rocker who still plays at restoring motorcycles. Enjoy the lathe when you get one, have you considered the through spindle bore size for parts you intend to turn ? Some of the smaller lathes are a bit restricted. Chris.

Hi Glenn,

The AUD us a great lathe if you can find one with little wear, even if it's starting to look a bit old fashioned.
