I moved to Cyprus a few years back and never got around to unpacking my cowells 90 lathe and setting it up in a workshop, well recently i finished my shed and started looking into making it a workshop. Quite by chance a week ago i was offered an old lathe crated up in a box for the past 10 years, had no idea what i had agreed to take away, just was told it was heavy , so that was a good start. I got my cowells 90 as an 18th birthday present in 1978, it has been my only lathe so i was very excited to get something bigger. It turns out to be an early Myford ML1 in poor condition with many homemade parts of a basic and utilitarian nature, but its a lathe and kind of up and running. I am looking ,over a period of time to recondition it, well as far as my skills allow. it has the serial no. y642, any idea how old it may be?

      Louis.

          Hello Louis,

Welcome to the forum. An ML1 is probably pre-war. Take a look HERE if you haven't already.
