Welcome Michael.
You are starting on a learning curve into a hobby which will provide huge amounts of interest and information, and enable you to do things which many would consider to be impossible.
As time passes and you gain experience, and confidence, you find yourself doing and making all manner of things.
Even special gadgets that no one else has thought of!
(My wife has a nut cracker that is built like the proverbial brick mausoleum, but no nut has yet withstood it! ).
You might even get the reputation of the neighbourhood "Mr Fixit" because of this.
"They don't make spares for them no more sir" But someone will know a"Man who can", and possibly better than the original.
Learn to walk before running and you will avoid a lot of disappointments.
Model Engineers have produced some fantastic work in all sorts of ways.
But remember that the man who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Good Luck!
Howard
