      Hi Guys,

Thank you for accepting me to your forum.

Can anyone help me source in the UK small hollow tubes with interior thread?

The tube needs to be approximately 12 inches long with any interior thread below 1 inch.

      Many thanks

Steve, you need to give a little more information, what material is the tube, whats the O/D, what is the bore size, what thread specification do you want/need — size & pitch if not a standard thread. Finally you quote " interior thread below 1 inch" do you mean the depth of the thread is to be at least 1" or greater ?

As JohnF says we do need some more info. Depending on sizes needed, I would try a lamp supplier or an electrical supply firm. Various sizes under 1" are available where I am (Canada) to be used as "drops" to suspend electric light fixtures from ceilings. Definitely available in USA as well. They may be available in UK or other parts of world too.

Welcome, Steve, you have certainly started with a difficult one. The electrical fitting pipes all seem to be externally threaded. Making one of several sizes would not be hard for me, but during lockdown, I have no access to the required tools. A suitable tube would have to be tapped right through using a tap with an extension silver soldered on to it. As usual, there are some sources in the USA, but getting anything sent to the UK is extremely difficult and expensive.

This is the type of tube Jeff mentions, M10 x 1 is a common light fitting thread

There is a UK supplier of something that may suit Flamco
