For Christmas we gave our 5 year old grandson, already very much a budding model engineer, a copy of the Haynes Manual for Thomas the Tank Engine, an excellent book for the young engineer. He loved it but, in packing the car to go home, it got left behind with us. My wife phoned him to say we would post it on for which he thanked her but said Grandad would find it very useful if he wanted to borrow it. After this kindness lending me his prized book I really must make sure I get the long promised garden track for the 5in diesel shunter set up by his next visit!

Thanks, just bought this now for my 5 year old son. I expect he will be telling me things soon. He knows too much about trains.
