I've been reading this forum for a couple of years now and finally decided it
was time to sign up. My shop is small with a South Bend 10K lathe, a
BenchMaster mill, a couple of drill presses, and the usual support equipment
and tooling. Though I'm not a machinist by trade I've been machining things
for work and myself for about 50 years now, on and off. Two years ago I finally
make a Stuart Oscillator that I've wanted to make for decades and after I
retired, I did it. My career was in mechanics, research R&D, repair, welding,
fabrication and, later, design and manufacturing engineering. Currently working
on designing and gathering materials to build a hit and miss gasoline engine
using a LT igniter. I've learned so much from this, and other, forums about
engines of all types and the itch is really intense to get going.
