Hello all, firstly I wouldn’t consider myself as an engineer but I do own a few british motorcycles so I am quite used to fabricating parts for them on my mill and lathe. I have been lucky enough to retire early and find that I had time on my hands ( there is only so many motorcycles that you can restore, as they take up a fair bit of space ) so I decided that I fancied a go at making model engines etc and started off with a wig-wag engine which was followed by a stretched horizontal wig-wag Then a stretched upright wig-wag. Now my thirst for knowledge has got the better of me and I purchased Stewart Harts book ” Victorian Stationary Engines ” and have just today started work on the horizontal mill engine. This looks like its going to be a great hobby that’s going to see me spending a lot of time in my workshop and most importantly Keep my brain going through retirement.
Thanks for reading, Stephen.
