I have finally got around to introducing myself to the group. I have lurked around here for years and am ashamed to admit never managed to succeed in registering. Just a case of RTFM and recently the penny dropped!
Not really new to Engineering as such, I have owned and run a small engineering workshop, a wide range of work but tending to the smaller tool and instrument making side of things. It’s a reasonably comprehensive workshop small Colchester lathe, Bridgeport clone mill small Alba shaper and GH Alexander pantograph. A slight obsession with tool and cutter grinding has resulted in the acquiring of a Mk1 Clarkson, a GH Alexander engraver grinder and a Chinese Cuttermaster clone.
I’m looking forward to getting involved with model engineering as retirement approaches and would also like to dip a toe into the world of 3D printing particularly as a support for the pantograph work.
This seems to be a very friendly forum, I recognise a few names from other sites and I’m very much looking forward to getting involved.
