Hi everyone. Just signed up to the forum. I am interested in model making in general, especially related to railways, traction engines and all things steam.
I am a volunteer for the Mountsorrel Railway (connected to the Great Central railway) and the associated Mounstorrel and Rothley Community Heritage Centre in Leicestershire.
Not sure what sort of reaction this will get as it's a different sort of modelling, but I am also very keen on building models from Lego. You can see some of my Lego work on my Flickr page. **LINK**
Hi Bricked1980 welcome to the forum not sure that Lego is on the list but the models in your **LINK** are great. All things mechanical, electrical and other model are covered on the forum and many people are able to give advice etc.
Nothing wrong with modelling in Lego, and you're doing impressive work with it. Grown-up Meccano can be very special too. I don't think the medium alters the value of aesthetic results. Do you see what you do as engineering, art, or both?
Great designs Bricked. I'll be honest, I can see some are clearly real, but are some of them rendered in virtual Lego like the pub interiors? Or are they just really clean and well lit
Welcome to the forum, I live near Alfreton so not too far away. If you have any questions then ask awy, someone on here is bound to come up with an answer.
Regarding my Lego models. I agree it's not really the sort of thing that covered on here. Personally I do feel Lego is a form of modelling but definitely is more towards the artistic end of the spectrum and definitely not engineering at all.
Anyway I am interested in other types of model making too so hope to pick up some good tips on here.
