Hello ,my name Steve ,I retired 18 months ago ,looking forward to more workshop time and getting my cars upto scratch.

In 1981a few years after completing my apprenticeship at Joseph Lucas I bought my lathe, I still have the invoice, a new Myford S7B, hardened bed, stand and motor, cost £1375 ! A set of Stuart 5A casting followed, just a few coats of paint and it’l be finished, only 39 years!

I use Alibre Atom 3D for designing and workshop for cam programs, I’m designing a single cylinder IC engine at the moment .I’ve also made a Cad model of E T Westburys Ladybird diesel engine, a project for another day.

I love steam engines, model IC engines ,classic cars and French Bulldogs.

      Steve

Hello Steve. I have decided to look up the diesel you mentioned…. I like diesel. (Proper diesel that is with injectors, it occurs to me that your engine is like to involve model aircraft diesel)

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my introduction Bernard and Benedict. Bernard I hope you’re making good progress on your Sparey diesel . Benedict you are correct the Ladybird would require model diesel fuel, I don’t think Edgar Westbury’s Ladybird engine is as popular as his other designs.

The plans are cheap enough so I may make such an engine.

Could I suggest joining a local model engineering club as there are a wealth of information and resource.

Thank you Colin, the Redwing engine is quite large, should look impressive when finish.
