Hello, I'm just starting out with an interest in clocks and internal combustion engines.

A few years ago I picked up a late model Perris, so that's small things catered for. Now I'm looking for something a bit bigger, there's an array of new machines plus Myfords and the like from various sources, it's all a bit daunting knowing what to look at.

Any advice would be appreciated.

​Type in the 'search for' box at the top of the page & you should be able to pick up threads relating to other postings with the same question, or click on the 'latest post' heading & look back over the previous pages numbered at the bottom you'll find other threads with the same question, iirc one thread was titled 'What lathe'… etc.

Welcome along, lots of advice on here ask away. First decide on what you want to make or work on, that will dictate the size of machinery needed and also your space and budget !

Hello, thanks for the welcome. I've found the search function and reading through the comments to formulate my plans. I'm getting a clearer picture of what I need.
