I take it that you are interested in model engineering of some sort; is you father's equipment available because it duplicates what you already have?

I haven’t a foggiest in model engineering sorry but my father passed in February and we have lots of engineering equipment that I’m selling to make space in the garage for my mum

Greetings Jonathon, and I am sorry for you & your family at this difficult time.

If you father was a member of, or known to a member of a local Model engineering Club, I suggest that this is you best first contact. Even if he was not a member, then contact with them can do no harm. Perhaps your Mother would know of any contact.

At any cost, I would strongly advise against using a dealer or workshop clearance company, they have a poor reputation for value for money.

Perhaps if you let us have a idea of your late Fathers workshop location, we could suggest a suitable club.

Jonathon , Also suggest you consider contacting any vintage groups in your area concerned with mechanical equipment such as say industrial museums , car clubs , motor cycle clubs , preserved railways , vintage lorries club , model boat clubs , Men in Sheds etc . Trevor.

Jonathon . Sorry to hear of your loss. You may find that the various enthusiast groups on facebook( Myford, Drummond, Boxford, steam , etc) are another good place to post items for sale. Contrary to some opinions there are some decent people to be found there.

When you have sufficient posts, to allow you to post an ad in the classifieds on here.

It might be an idea to list everything. Be as specific as possible., (maker or if shop made, it would be worth taking one or more pictures, and putting into an album, and refer to the album from the classified. )
