Retired Power Station worker, Ive had an interest in machines since I did my workshop training back in the sixties.

I had a boxford AUD for years and thoroughly enjoyed using it, but thats gone now and im looking to buy another (probably warco 250) lathe. I do have a Wm14 mill in my workshop, the motor went pop in the first week only doing light cuts. Since then ive been wary of dc motors with brushes (they get hot). Ive noticed that some lathes now have Brushless DC motors, does anyone have one of these lathes and what is their experience? My old 1962 Boxford has 3 phase motor and an inverter fitted, Thats another option on the WM250v-f.
