I did dither back and forward a bit about whether to wait until the lockdown is over so I could go and talk to the local club.
But as you mentioned, I realised that it's never likely to be steamed in public anyway, as I'm only building it for my own testing, and as project to get an idea of how much effort it is to build a boiler and if I really wanted to build a loco further down the line.
So I decided to just get on with it, and make sure I test it properly with a suitably calibrated pressuge gauge etc.
Interestingly, I didn't find flanging the plates, and getting them to fit, to be as difficult as I was expecting.
If anything it was making all the formers that was the most tedious part, along with having to clean up all the sawdust!
I've also made a few extra parts in the last couple of days since I took the original pictures…
