HSE today issued a bulletin which includes advice regarding carcinogens associated with welding and similar risks associated with filament 3D printing.

Whilst most modellers will spend rather less time exposed to 3D printing than someone employed to do printing, it strikes me that many pursue their hobby in small, poorly ventilated 'dens'.

This being so you might like to follow this link so that you can make your own judgement of risks and any need for improved ventilation.

The only reason you might not know this already is if you were not interested enough to read around the subject in the first place, this is not news, I was reading warnings about ventilation 4 years ago when I first researched 3D printing.

Ventilation. I worked at Hestair eagle engineering in Hunslet Leeds,as a maintenance Electrician for a time. The greenbat & fork truck battery charging bay was a room with stone slabs down each side. One Monday morning a operator entered the room which had a pair of saloon doors. He had a fag in his mouth. The whole room exploded & blew him backwards through the doors. He was out cold but was not hurt. VENTILLATION. True story.

              Steve.
