An adhesives factory in Johannesburg was a high fire hazard, so we had CO2 extinguishers everywhere, as well as a flooding system in the mix room. Staff used to turn the nozzle face up, crack open the valve and put their drinks can inside to cool down. Needless to say, they had to be refilled at regular intervals.
Here in NZ, H2S gas is present in the air in Rotorua (called sulphur city by the locals), where there are geysers. A few years ago a person was found dead in a low lying hotel room from H2S poisoning.
