Can anyone please advise me on the best way to fit handrail knobs (Threaded M1.4) directly to a Gauge 1 boiler ie not to cladding?
It occurs to me that because of the small thread it would be best to make up small tapped, blind inserts and silver solder them into the boiler first. If this is a viable method I would presume that the inserts would have to be bronze and not brass?
Any advice gladly received.
