Hi everyone,

registered a couple of days back to re-ignite my love towards manual machining.
Just acquired a Colchester Student but tbh need some help to ID it.

also have got some questions about tool, height adjustment and bits that are missing from it. I would not be able figure out myself. it’s been taken apart by previous owner for sure as it has missing bolts and parts what I noticed upon cleaning.

ive uploaded could of pictures but it’s taking ages as I can’t seem to find batch upload option.

Hi Greg Welcome to the forum. I have had a look at your pictures and they are a little disconcerting as they are not all right way up. If you take a picture with a smart phone it may not when posted be the right way round. I found that I have to have the phone on one side when taking pictures fore here and only use it in that position for posting. There is an information page on posting on the web site on forums tab then website FAQ tab.

There should be a number stamped into the bed on the tailstock end which will help in identifying model  and date not sure if it is front or back, have a good look round.

Wow, am not surprised, I twisted my neck just to figure out what those pictures are. Unfortunately I can not rotate them under the edit, would be handy doe! I’ll reupload them one by one, that might sort it out.
