      Good Morning Everyone

I have fond memories of the Model Engineering Show back in the 1980s

I used to go with my Dad sourcing things for the Suffolk Dredging Engine he was building and looking at the marvellous modles on show.

Here we are 40 years down the road and the Suffolk still isn't finished and Dad has recently passed away

So I have acquired a workshop full of "stuff" , a lathe , a mill/drill and a partially finished SDE

Hopefully some of you will be able to guide me as to the best way to move these things on when the time comes

      Regards and thanks Tris (Tristram)

Hi Tris, Sorry about the loss of your dad. As for moving his things on, are you certain in your mind that you don't want to take them over? Once they are gone, they are gone.

            Thanks Lee

This has been a long time coming, plus my hobby is silversmithing

I did think about finishing the SDE, but feel that other people will benefit more

I'll keep the the stuff that crosses over and go from there

            Cheers

            Tris

Hi Tris as a retired toolmaker a while ago I was given a class in jewelry making as a present. It has enabled me to make things I had never thought of like my granddaughter had to make a bracelet for a project at school and having milled a jig to hold it in while she stamped a pattern was one thing that stood out or sticking some pieces of amber to a piece of metal on the lathe so it could be turned to shape and polished. Perhaps the workshop tooling could be usefull to you eavan making special tools for punches etc.

To be honest David it's the large size of the machines that cause the problem for me.

If it was ML7 sized it would be winging it's way to Lincolnshire

You never know though the funds realised from the big machine may buy me a smaller one!
