And it looks like he's a commercial tool and die machine shop so if he has "unlimited money" its from the sweat of his own brow. Tough way to make a living these days.

Thank you Michael for finding that, even if it is a bit of nonsense. I was pleased to see a shaper featured in the equipment used but why the hell wasn't that bench grinder bolted down?!

On a slightly smaller scale, I spotted this one a while ago.

Somewhere, I've also seen a slightly more practical smaller one.

Weedy little screw, that would fold up without much force. I would have used at least a 3" ACME.

All the screw does is take up the slack, then the air powered bottle jack actually gives the clamping force.

But why the flashy burr wood covered wheel on an industrial tool?

At a guess, because it isn't an "industrial tool" but a form of promotion piece to draw attention to the core business capability.

If you went to a fabrication / machining / subcontract exhibition, somehting like that would draw the crowds over a typical static display of waterjet cut bits & sample turned parts, wouldn't it ?

Thanks for sharing – I enjoyed it and probably wouldn't have clicked on it from the description alone.

I watched a few of his other videos afterwards too and they answer a couple of questions posed here. The point of the exercise is that he designs and sells the fancy angle blocks and magnetic shims he uses throughout to set up his welds – so at ~3.5 million views it is a very cost effective advert. The fancy wheel and paint job just goes to improve those numbers.

He also made a video where he experimented with different screw sizes – and concluded that smaller was better…

The company is Fireball Tools. They make welding sqaures, fixture plates and many other large tools for industry.
