Getting to grips with Fusion 360.

Been learning the Fusion 360 these past week or so and I find i'm getting to grips with it faster than I did with Solidedge. Very powerful programme. Once I finish me Boring bar holder I might stick it up on here [ so folks can get a laugh] As a test of the new PC I downloaded a m 20 bolt fully threaded and copied it 99 times which gave me 100 bolts and the new PC hardly noticed them,even when rendering and moving. So a big up to PC specialist.

One thing I miss is the ability to insert Rendered views into the active drawing although they are working on that aspect now and hopefully will see it added in July. All kudos to Autodesk for making the software free to hobbyists.

Well done Dave, Have never got round to attempting any sort of CAD package but have always wanted to. I asked the question on here some time ago for a free easy to understand / use package & Fusion came up as one of them; so am asking again. perhaps you could point me, via a link, in the direction of Fusion/Autodesk for your free package.

Hi George, [ got me name wrong but I'll let you off ] I just went to the Autodesk site and downloaded it. You will have to create an account but that is no bother. It really is worth it as it is a top notch Programme. incredibly powerful. I am seriously thinking of not renewing me maintenance for Solidedge. after using the Fusion.

Its very clever of fusion to allow free home use. For years i used solidworks at college and work. Trying to get a cheap or free copy of solidworks was impossible. If i were to use a cad programme at work again, i would go for fusion and forget solidworks.

Could you give us a brief rundown of the specs of your new computer please? I will have to take the plunge as my current laptop won't run Fusion properly. Graphics card issue that can't be updated.
