Are these change-wheels or internal ones? For the former, try a second-hand dealer like Home & Workshop Machinery.

Alternatively, if you know the pressure-angle, a transmission-parts stockist like HPC, Bearing Boys, etc. . These firms sell stock gears that need their pilot bores and perhaps other details machining to suit the application; though now of course some might only stock metric-size wheels. Also most gears now are of 20º PA: they will mesh with 14º 30' wheels but not properly, in time harming both.

It is posible that gears for other Colchester vlathes would fit.

If you can quote the DP (Assumed to be DP being a British machine) and other dimensions, Thicknessm bire etc ) it might be possible to find ones for another machine that could fit, or be modified by machining, (Thinning, opening up/ boring and bushing ) to suit your machine.

What is some one else's surplus material might be your raw material for the gears that you require!

His previous question on the same subject was on 25/07/23 (https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=187461). The details you ask for are in that thread, posted 26/07/23.

Hi Howard my Chipmaster is the continental

ive only had it a few weeks trying to collect

everything that goes with it the gears that came

with 1 of them had a broken tooth

with advice I received from forum members

i decided to repair it myself by welding

& filing it turned out perfect

im collecting a set of change gears

as I’ve started single point screw

cutting mainly to replace parts for

                my sons garage

                thanks

                steve
