Here is an interesting resource from the Boston Gear company. It has a load of useful data on gears as well as a very good explanation of many gear technology terms and concepts.

The link will take you to chapter 1 of 5 pdf documents. The easiest way I have found to get to the other chapters is to simply change the chapter number in the url.

Hi All

I am looking for a free gear and timing sprocket profile generator, to enable me to generate an accurate profile of the part, then extrude it and edit it in CAD. ideally one with DXF output.

Does anyone know of one?
