      OK I thought that for Module gears the cutter number increases with number of teeth (rack = No 8), and for DP it decreases (rack = No 1)

      But I see this on the RDG site. https://www.rdgtools.co.uk/product-category/involute-gear-cutters-dp-and-module/1-module-involute-gear-cutters-1-bore/

      Could get confusing.

        Some do, some don’t. The only reliable indicator is the tooth count for which the cutter is suitable.

        I think it could be challenging to find a DP one that does not folow the B&S system, but module ones count from both directions.
