Experiencing an annoying issue with a tool path created in F360 and running on my Tormach 770. I created 3D lettering in Fusion on a flat surface and the pocketed parts of the lettering (like the centre part of the letter O) are coming out considerably shallower than the rest of the lettering.

Any sensible suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in anticipation.

What shape tool are you using? I have found with very small letters and V shaped engraving tools that the tool can’t go as deep as the top of the V gets too large. You might also want to look at the minimum radius of the cut as again that can stop the tool from being able to move within small pockets.

This one I had to do a separate pocket path for the insides as the main pocket was just missing them completely. Tighter radius and less depth.

Edit the Z depth for the centre of the O in the program, if you go too deep with a tapered cutter though you may lose the outer, or part of it.

Well you are the person with the problem, how do you know what would be a sensible suggestion. Perhaps a bit more information apart from just Fusion and a Tormach mill.

All sorted, worked it out myself.
