I bought some Finnebrogue Artisan burgers from Tesco, yesterday

Not inexpensive, at £4.50 for two … but they are large, and are made with

      100% Grass-Fed Waygu Beef

The packaging has all the righteous information you could possibly wish for, and the taste is rather special … my first reaction was ‘more like veal than steak’

      Has anyone else tried them?

I would be interested to know your opinion.

Not that it really matters to anyone except the Bulls … that should read Wagyu not Waygu blush

Apparently made from 100% grass fed beef .. but only 86% beef in the burger.
I remain a sceptic on most such things. The tastiest beef bits are usually the fats which will be included in the 100% starting point and higher in Wagyu beef
I'm cheap so make my own 'stretch burgers' – mince, mushrooms, onion, jalapeños, breadcrumbs, stock and a binding egg.
100% grass fed also means nothing without further qualification – could be cut and carted or silage or high density grazing on parasite loaded fields…

I couldn’t find them on the Tesco site. If I see them though I will give them a try. I have to say though that I don’t like thick fat burgers. To me a hamburger patty should not be more than about 10mm thick.

                      Thanks, Vic

They were in-store at Prestatyn, but show currently out-of-stock here:

Do be aware … they are very thick

I just squashed mine to a more reasonable shape, in the pan

Had a google and first name that came up was Aldi, of special interest to me was ingredients as I am a Coeliac (gluten intolerence) Look ok as they did not appear to have any of the no no's to me, Wheat, Rye, Barley or Oats (Oats are actually GF but the normal milling process contaminates them)

                        Might give them a try.
