Hopefully a temporary measure whilst they sort out what paperwork etc will be needed to ship to the UK post Brexit, but for now you cannot order from Fohrmann for delivery to the UK.

Shame as I was about to impulse buy their wheel holding fixture, now looking at machining up my own ….

          and I've made progress!

Be gentle with me as this is the first thing I have turned up for 25 years, despite having the CL250M for my 40th – 15 years ago …..

Tried to copy the images on the Fohrmann website and details from the downloadable instructions I have this so far

          Holder2

          and here's it assembled

          Holder1

Need to make a larger pressure piece, so have some 16mm brass bar on the way and I am not keen on the bought in 2mm thumbwheel. I need to get a knurling tool so I can make a bigger one in brass, but it does work

Now that, on face value, seems amazing! Unless you have (and use) the milling attachment that goes/went with it?

The parts look good – and likely cheaper than importing?

LOL thanks, I'll take that I wish I had the milling head, should have bought one when they were £250. The Sealey version is nearer £500 now

If you ignore the costs of buying M2 taps and die, tailstock die holder then yes, much cheaper than importing, about 10 quid in materials

I'm sure you will find a further use for the bits you bought specially. And very likely, if importers are all caught in the same trap – we in the UK will have to make our bits with what we have got. Just like in the war, really …

                Cheers, Tim

Oh yes. my Grandad always said "make the job pay for the tool" – in other words don't struggle, buy the right tool and then you'll have it for next time

"On shoring" is the new model to follow.

Just as an update to the original post it seems that Fhormann once again are shipping to the UK, via DHL I believe
