Flat Belts

I need a flat belt to take a drive from an engine flywheel to a small dynamo, I have found vacuum cleaner belts but they tend to be a bit on the heavy side!

Stuarts do a belt which looks like the right sort of material but it is only 3/16 wide – I would like it to be about 1/2 inch.

Any suggestions?

can supply flat belting I believe. I had one made up about fifteen years ago for an ancient Myford by a company in Purley but I think they’ve gone.

And prepare yourself for 1000 promises and long delays! That guy’s messed me about like nobody’s business. Yes, his website is great – but find your belt somewhere else, if you want it this year.
