I am looking for a table of standard fits and limits for sizes up to 2"/50mm.

The only model engineering book that I have found of any use is Tubal Cain's Model Engineer's Handbook with one general paragraph. My Kemp's Engineers Year Book is little better. Charts and tables are available on the internet but they are complex and generally deal with larger sizes.

Surely someone must have produced such a table for model engineers?

Are you looking for a table that explains what fits are indicated by various codes (e.g RC1 -RC9) or more general guidance like in Tubal Cain's book?

This could be a good subject for a 'cut out and keep' table in MEW.

A Zeus book should give you all you need or perhaps an older copy of Machinerys' Handbook.

Here is a hole-basis chart. Not sure of its origins, but readily available at many internet locations.

There are lots of other things in Machinery's that can be of use. I would suggest a copy from mid/late 60's onwards.

The prices seem to have gone up of late so might pay to look on abbe books as well as ebay.

                      Zeus booklet has them all…

Many thanks for the prompt replies. I have copied and printed Rodney's chart and am about to take it to my workshop (probably the last time I will be in there before the cold snap).

It's an ISO std. There's a calculator here if you like online tools.

There are also standards for thread fits.
