In my workshop I have 2 workbenches, one nominally for woodwork and one for metalwork, but it doesn’t really workout like that. Between the 2 I have 3 woodworking vices. Some of my equipment isn’t permanently fixed down e.g. grindstone. They are fixed to a baseboard with a length of 2 by 2 attached to the bottom. This means that they can be held firm in any of the 3 vices, or I can remove them to create greater bench space.
Some of my tools are in a very slim cupboard, which triples the wall hanging space. Inside wall, back of the door and front of the door.
Sometimes I will use an outside bench, for dirty jobs or extra space or to give much better ventilation. I use an old Wolf “workmate” that I made a detachable top for. Plywood with a central 4 by 2 that can be gripped by the vice jaws. In my head I have planned for a permanently sited outdoor bench with a lean to, clear corrugated, roof at the back of my garage workshop. A temporary or permanent outdoor bench could give you more working space. A permanent one would need treated timber and a means of covering a vice if fitted. The plan in my head is to make one from old railway sleepers or the newer softwood replacements.
My first workshop was in a smaller space than yours.
Good luck with your venture.
