Would it be possible for Alex or Frank to suggest a suitable glow plug for this engine? maybe even two options, one for those who will fly it and another for what I feel will be the majority who just want to bench run the engine.

Having just ordered the various OS engine spares it struck me that possible builders may want to order a glow plug at the same time to save another postage bill. I've got a couple that have been sitting for 20odd years so will dust them off and see how it runs.

BTW here is what the various OS parts are like for anyone interested, I also got some blue tinted fuel line so it matches the 3D renderingsface 9

Jason – as a rule of thumb a 'hot' engine ie high performance will use a 'cold' plug and a 'cold' engine ie average sport engine will use a 'hot' plug. The higher the rev band and performance the colder end of the spectrum. It will also depend on the fuel used – basic, just methanol and oil or with a nitromethane content usually 5-10% at the most for for the average sport motor

Model Technics do – did – a range of very good plugs from 1 to 8 if I remember correctly. Trouble is I can't remember which number is the hot end which is probably toward where I would say this engine will be. I'm sure there will be something on their website. Not sure if it's the same these days either but they used to be available in long and short reach.

Theres a lot of plugs and mixes of fuel to choose from – not like a dieselwink

            Regards – Ramon

Thanks Ramon, it's probably been at least 25yrs since I last fired up a glow engine when I used to play about with 1/8th off road in my teens and can't say I paid much attension to what plugs I was using then. From what I recall they are K&B but could not say if they are hot, cold or anything between the two. I'll give them a try first.

Just hope that 3/4s of a gal of 5% Dynaglow has got some life left in itthinking

Thanks David, look forward to Franks reply
