I am looking to run my Stuart 10V and a couple of other Stuart models from an air compressor. Initially it will be just the Stuart 10V. Festo do 3mm 4mm and 6mm fittings – what is the accepted norm for fitting size? Many thanks for any advice offered.

The ones for 4mm OD PVC would do on the inlet side, most of my 24mm bore engines will happily run on that size so your smaller Stuart should not have a problem. Worth getting a flow valve then you can set the compressors regulator to 5-10ps and control the engines speed with the valve.

Valve could be screwed into the engines halve chest but you may want to think of a manifold with a quick relese PCL type inlet and threaded for several valves, I have one with 2x 4mm, 2x 6mm and 1 x 8mm.

Very many thanks for such a quick reply. Will get 4mm od pipe and connectors. Many thanks again.

Will a standard festo regulator suffice as it seems to go from 0 – 12 bar or greater and all I need is 1-2 bar max.

Not familiar with that make but any basic flow control valve should do, mine are similar to these and rated at the same 10bar does not mean you have to put that much into them. You can get inline ones too.

Watch this video I posted yesterday, after 60 seconds all speed is being controlled by one of those valves, towards the end you can see that I have set the compressor regulator to approx 10psi so the valve and the engine only sees that.
