Just for fun we thought it might be nice to feature one of your models in our Facebook cover spot so we’re throwing it open for you to send us a maximum of two images that depict your favourite model in action. Post on this thread but do bear in mind that we’re after realistic running shots only please – no gardens and no workshops in this one. The website will only allow low res images but we'll contact the winner for a high res version in the fullness of time. Twist our arm and we might even be persuaded to give away a free subscription. We're nothing if not very generous!

That made me look twice as to how the V10 was running with the valve chest cover removed – good trick.

Beth, do they have to be action shots? Usually it is easier to see the model if the flywheel and other moving parts are not blurred or if taken at a fast enough speed to freeze the moving parts then the engine will look stationary anyway.

Or are you only after a loco or traction engine with smoke billowing out the chimney?

Hi Jason, I think we can be a little relaxed on the 'action' the idea was primarily to find some 'animated' shots that suggest movement. Smoke would qualify as would any other moving part. Having said that, if we're presented with a beautifully shot image of a gorgeous or atmospheric loco, traction engine, stationary engine (or whatever) at rest, it's going to be very hard to ignore. Does that help?

I've actually got a piece of Perspex in place of the cast chest cover so you can see the valve operation… so it's all sealed up…wink look at…
