The source code is where you enter x228, on the next page the subscription drop down box shows two options, quarterly by DD with drill chuck and arbor or annual with drill chuck and arbor.
you can't get to this page if you don't enter anything in the source code box.
My subscription finished at the end of December, so the last issue of MEW that I was due to receive was the December issue, which arrived yesterday by post. I renewed my subscription two days prior to that and successfully used the code that you supplied. You'll hear if the chuck doesn't arrive!
I got a renewal notice in the post and I renewed online nowhere was i prompted to enter a code for a free gift. I renewed for two years as it was cheaper that way. Its a shame that loyal readers don't qualify for a gift without having to play the system.
When subscribing last week, I was given the choice of which issue to start the subscription with, the earliest being issue 211, Jan 2014. To be posted mid December.
Thanks very much, I managed to get through to subscription services and they also told me Jan 2014 – sent around mid December – according to their web page
Question to DC1; How much tolerance before/after the subscription offer has been published is there? I wonder if it would be a case to ask since I renewed less than a month before the offer was published?
Thought I had better check mine, mine has pronounced wobble too. Measured runout on jt0 spindle and got 0.35mm – totally unacceptable. I think the chocolate nut and bolt on another thread would have more uses, at least I could eat it!!!
Received mine yesterday, apart from a tiny burr on the spring groove which was causing some binding at the start of travel (stoned it off and all good now), there is no discernable runout on this one.
Suggest you guys talk to MHS (or talk nicely to Ketan at Arc) MHS should replace any faulty items.
In answer to my own question (and subsequent reading in the forum) yes cancel the current DD's claim the gifts renew DD's over the phone dead easy. Did n't realise I could set up the DD at the same time until told by the receptionist simple (I assumed it'd be a year subscription). However it would have been more simple to send me the gifts and ask me for the difference in subscription rates if I wanted them. I have asked for this to be passed on upwards as a suggestion. I assume that most people would be like me wanting the security of the magazines continuing and getting my magazines if they already pay by DD and so would be likely to be happy to have a short cut to getting the gifts (if they wanted them!)
PS would prefer a land line I did not have to pay for not 0844 doesn't have to be 0800 I already (like most) have free landline calls.
My gift was waiting for me on my return from the UK on Friday last. First impressions are very favourable. I haven't used it yet but I see no reason to think it will be anything other than satisfactory.
