Huh , the German-built hacksawing machine one of my former employers bought to replace an aging Wicksteed machine, didn't come with bags of sweets, let alone Schnapps!
It did come with two very good ideas. It had huge slide-way bearing surfaces for the bow, and the hydraulics drove the bow down against two massive tension-springs so if they failed the springs would pull the bow up away from the work. Just a shame its auto-feed vice was to a ghastly design no amount of jelly sweets or brandy would make up for!
