      No, your'e right, Michael. Point taken.

      I wasn't so much answering the OP, but the thread has rather gone into the usual territory of setting up to etch metal at home which so often involves huge effort, and sometimes expense, for often mediocre results. Not always, I hasten to add, but often.

        In any other circumstances, outsourcing a tricky and malodorous job would be an excellent idea !

          I've just etched this using laser printing onto inkjet paper and then ferric chloride, whole etching process is on my blog – lots of people across different media have been giving me hints and tips so all collected with references.

          The brass plate is 35mm in diameter, it has taken me quite a few goes to get to this, but worth it in the end.
