Morning all, I spend hours confusing the bejabers out of myself trying to get my ML7 to do something clever and constructive – usually to do with some fiending plan I have for one of my bikes (R1100RS, CB400 four, Moiras' F650CS and YZF R3) or the fabrication of an unobtanium special tool designed to save time doing a job, once you've spent half a week making the tool.
I try to work to a standard higher than "agricultural", leaning towards the aviation type standard. My background having wended its way from hammer, screwdriver, king-dick and adjustable, through marine and offshore, proddy bike racing, TT mechanc-ing and aviation driver.
I usually waste my time in the Ship Inn in a lost-cause search for MacEwans 80/- which can (thankfully) be found at the Lemon Tree.
Am I a "one-off" or are there similar about ?

Ship @ Banff ? Lemon Tree @ Aberdeen ? Plenty of good beer round here, mostly from the far north eg Orkney. Time never wasted, today I got a compressor that " didn't work "

Thanks for that, sometimes contemplating a pint does the trick.

Gordon, I've never explored Orkney further than the airport but I plan to get aboard my Beemer and head that way some Summer. As for beer in Aberdeen, how's ma camerons, the price o' wales, the runway inn and the boars head nowadays ? I'm still to find the glaikit stirk though !

Aberdeen changes every time I go there, pub names change all the time. But I don't go often , problems getting home after. Don't have to go to far north, the beers are sent south, as far as Aberdeen anyway. Still not found any model eng. shows yet.

The only place I know of in beer and football land that's remotely engineering is the Bo'ness Railway Museum

Football? Didn't realise you all are in the far south. There are a few preserved railways and museums about, some seem to try and hide away. The steam train Fort William to Mallaig is well worth it if only for the view, even tho' it now is the harry potter special. Brechin has a bit of preserved track and does runs. Alford motor museum worth a look, events thru' the year. Wetherspoons in Inverurie named after an engine built in the loco works !
