I have, In my posession, a piece of engineering history which has recently been made redundant.

I lack the resources to preserve this asset.

This asset is not British, but it is an exceptional piece of engineering.

      Now.

I am an advocate of all things beautiful in engineering in recent years.
I have done a lot of “daft stuff” to secure lathes…but this is another thing which is rare, valuable and beautiful if you value these things.

      So wtf do I do?

How do we preserve these things???

Say, for example it is a nsu ro 80

wtf do I do if I’m skint.

If I take this thing to a scrapyard, I am a hypocrite.
I might as well take a sledgehammer to a Hardinge HLV.

THERE’S NO TWO WAYS ABOUT THIS.

            So what can I do???

Barrys only saved locomotives because the cash from ripping up track was so good the business of cutting up engines got shoved aside…and a few got saved.

Another example of what I have.
This is a serious chunk of european engineering.

Not British. But it eats entire countries, I had it on a 2000 mile tour a year ago with zero issues.

In a way it was scary because if it broke down I was stuffed.
(I never saw another one for weeks)

okay, right, I’m going to have to stash it away….

Even if it’s a pain in the proverbial.

I reported myself a few hours ago so it can be edited.
                    Sorry about that.

Sounds like you could use a detox clinic or a psychologist (or both), if you own both an NSU Ro80 and a Rover Vitesse.

By the way, what does this thread have to do with model engineering?

While we are on the subject of being off topic, I would just like to add how pleased I am to see some one using the word conumdrum rather than paradox, the incorrect use of which is all the rage in the media at the moment.
