Usually 18mm but there are some 20mm ones about.

          Cutwel [ one L ] do them.

          http://www.cutweltools.co.uk/home/milling-cutters/hss-8-cobalt-k2-coated-hsse-cutters

Most are 18mm but if you look at the multiflute, standard length section they list one at 20mm, these are the cheaper HSS ones.

Modern carbide cutters tend to have same shank as the cutter because the ER series collets are now the defacto standard and holding say a 7mm cutter with a 7 mm shank is no problem.

MSC have quite a few 20mm ones to choose from with 16mm shank and they have got 40% off today if you use SALE40 in the promo code

£10.66 with the discount code, hardly mortgage material?? And even without the discount at £17 still £3 cheaper than Cutwel  who want £20.

CTC Tools in Hong Kong provide very reasonable priced tooling. I recall their end mill sizes go above 16mm and I have had good results with their products.

Tracy tools do up to an inch end mills with a 5/8" 16mm shank

Thanks for the help about where to buy from . must be 30 years since I bought cutters but have just bought a myford miller and need a few bits and bobs.
