Looks OK to me Alan, I believe accuracy is more important than appearance but usually the 2 go hand in hand, it's pretty easy to improve the appearance if you wish.
I have a similar stage 'remnant' from 30 -ish years ago! I didn't make allowance in the 'block' size for the engine bearers and ended up 'betwixt and between'. You appear to have separate bearers – are they attached and, if so, what was the method. please? Iust might be enthused to try again!!
Hi CJ. Yes I miilled the bearers from a length of Alloy bar approx the size required and milled it out to the "L" section needed. I also had a few 3mm counter sunk screws (Allen Key type). It was a straight forward job to drill and tap. I aligned the top edge of the new bearer to the lower edge of the cylinder flange this in turn ensured ( I hope) the engine thrust line. (Note to self,f must invest in new tool tips) !!
I found the milling of the exterior crankcase the most difficult so far. To be honest it took me a couple of goes to get it right !!!! I am in the process of constructing the gear box, So far so good !!!
