Back in April, I ordered a small adjustable magnetic DTI stand from an e-bay supplier in China.

It never arrived, so a replacement was sent. That never came either, so a refund was given. Excellent communications throughout, with prompt responses and refund.

Today, three months later, the stand arrived……….. rather good, it is, too.

        James.

Have you listed it on eBay yet?

No. I was going to buy a couple if they were any good anyway. As this one never came, I bought another from a UK dealer.

              .

Bit confused here. (or a grumpy git)

But I totally fail to see how an item having to be refunded twice then eventually arriving three months later warrants the title of good service.? – The only good thing about it is 'seemingly' you now get it free.!

Please scratch the above remarks if your OP was posted tongue in cheek.

                Nick,

It was semi-tongue in cheek. The delivery was appalling, but the communication was good. I would not use them again, mind you.

                James.

I had a similar situation recently (-ish) ordering in April a digital dial gauge. It didn't come & at the beginning of this month I got a refund. They were very helpful etc. I'd have preferred a digital dial gauge at £8.45p though.

Something similar occurred last year with a couple of fountain pens from China (Baoer 508 & 517, each costing about £1.99 inc postage). The refund came on day 62 after the sale. The pens arrived on day 125.

                  Regards,

                  Richard

Purchased some switches a while back from china and gave it a 3 weeks – no show so contacted the seller and he sent some more they turned up a week later .

once i gave him a positive feedback i got a message asking if the other ones turn up could i send money for the ones he suposedly sent – like that was going to happen !

Six months later 3 of the twelve items that i originally ordered turned up and as far as I'm concerned that repayed the hassle i had .

I shouldn't complain though as i have had items go missing here in metropolitan Sydney and the seller had to lodge a claim with the courier company – they had to travel about 10 km to get to my house !

When buying from China the sellers give you a date that it should arrive. Also if it doesn't arrive when it should they provide a date by which you should file a non delivery claim and they refund your money. I'm sure the sellers are aware that these things happen and in the interest of customer relations they are willing to eat the financial cost. After all most of these items cost pennies to produce so they have really lost nothing.

What are the rules for selling in the U.K? because I have noticed a lot of HK sellers, yet it would seem they don't necessarily have to have a U.K base from which to post.

I'm not complaining as such because I have used some of them and been quite happy about it but it does seem kinda odd that they don't state they are overseas and they're accepting money in pounds, which would be quite useless to them over there.

                          .

Far from useless. HK is still one of the major financial centers of the world. Like the 'city' (London) they will not be bothered what they trade in as it will "all come out in the wash"

There will also be times that their suppliers will prefer payment in Sterling or even more likely Dollars so it will also benefit them in that way.

Then of course there is paypal (and others) who do the conversion (at a price) automatically for them.

                          Nick
