This looks about as good as it gets if you want one

The motor may not have a reversing switch

edit: There's also a wartime S Bend knocking about if someone wants a project

Plus a pretty mental Drummond round bed

why do these things always appear with xmas a week away…??

There’s also a massive Optimum lathe, apparently for 99p.

That is a VERY nice looking M-Type with all the good bits: Original stand and countershaft, change gear guards, V-belt pulleys and good pile of accessories. At the price it beats an ML7 etc for value for money hands down. Sadly underrated by many, this would be an ideal first lathe for a beginner. And capable enough for the expert too.

If you do move one of these and have to dismantle it take heed of Tonys advice

The motor countershaft section needs support when being removed

I had to use a trolley jack to support it when reassembling on my own

Should you have to remove or replace the countershaft from one of these stands, find some help. The unit, especially when fitted with the original motor, is very heavy and hinged around a triangular cast-iron plate at its base; if the unit is allowed to swing downwards with any force this plate will be snapped in two.
