I wish to build a IC Stationary Engine, maybe hit and miss. Does anybody know of drawings/casting availability from any prefably UK supplier?

      Thanks in advance.

          Edwin,

          Try looking at these: **LINK**

No hit and miss AFAICS, but quite a decent range.

            Hi Edward

You could also try here: **LINK** or here: **LINK**

Whilst not i/c I have made the Scott Vacuum engine from the second link. I am yet to coax it into life but others I know of have. The castings for this were good so hopefully that will apply to other engines in the range.

Forest do the Galloway and Woodpecker from Linley machine as well as the Redwing from PM Research.

Engineers emporium that is mentioned above do several more than are shown on their web site such as De-Dion, Daimler, 4-cylinder Mercedes, Aveling DX, Bonds Simplex and Tom Senior under production.

Anson Engine Museum are starting to do the old Alyn Foundry engines starting with teh Gardner hot bulb.

There are quite a few designs around that can be built from barstock but still look cast, Jerry Howell's Farmboy is quite nice or with a bit of work the "Zero-Six" from MEB can be made to look like mine

                Hi Edward,

Jan Ridder is a prolific model engine builder in the Netherlands who has designed many model engines including hit and miss, Stirling and flame gulpers. They are all made from bar stock which means that there are no expensive castings to be damaged.

He is very generous and offers his plans freely to anyone who asks by email. His site is in Dutch and English (left side top to change) Here is his site, it is well worth a look, if only to see his beautiful engines. There is also a small engines group on Yahoo.

Here is one of Jan's engines:

                Regards

                Terry

PS I've just come across this Model Engine Makers forum, I found it from Arc Eurotrade site.

                      Hi Edward,

Let us know how you progress, all too often folks ask for help which is freely given – as you have seen – but all too often that is the end, and we never get to see the results. A few posts in the way of thanks wouldn't go amiss. So please keep us up to date, and make some good friends.

                      regards

                      Terry

No problem Terryd, I will certanly do that. It is actually Edward's Son (Michael) posting this, as my Dad (Edward) has literally zero computer skills, but I will certainly keep you all up to date on his progress.

All the best, Michael (obo Edward)
