As you will no doubt be twiddling your thumbs in the armchair for the next few days the latest issue of ME prompted me to go looking for a very early issue.

I came across the whole 12 issues of volume 1 on archive dot org. You just need to register and then you can "borrow" the document. Quite a good read but the down side is I now have a few more items in the ever growing "future projects" folder.

      Find it here

I use wiki a lot, reading about anything from Rome (hooligans) to British Battleship development

              Interesting snippet the other day

Bismarck sank the Hood and the Prince of Wales disengaged, eventually returning home where they found an unexploded 15 inch shell in her hull which no-one knew about

Hi, well I have a hard copy of that volume 1, so I don't need to borrow it, and I won't be holding anyone else up who wants to look at it.

                  Regards Nick.

I also have a hard copy of V1, a hard bound reprint of about 1972, and have just got 1970 to 2000, all 700 + copies so the trouble I’m having with this new version of the forum I will have time to read all of them ! Noel.

Just heard an item about books on radio 4 (8.30-9.00 slot) that said a survey revealed 1 in 10 households didn’t have a single book.
Judging by some of the posts on here and especially on Facebook Drummond/Myford group many people new to lathes do not understand the concept of reading a book or magazine to find something out for themselves. Even looking further than FB seems beyond them.

My wife thinks I have all the books belonging to those without any. 🙂
