          Hi Kenneth

Clicking on the picture then clicking on the  underlined part of the link below opened the article for me. You will need Adobe Acrobat reader to view the PDF file though.

            Hi all,

Can anyone suggest a source of the helical gears for this engine these days? It was the need for these that put me off attempting this engine.

            Regards

              Hi Terry

My best wishes to you in setting up your new workshop, the pictures of the fire and the aftermath are truely frightening. Your experiences have made me think quite hard as I’m trying to get a workshop set up as well. Looks like the camera is going to be busy to help build an inventory!

Have you thought about asking HPC in  Chesterfield about the gears, the catalogues of theirs that I have lsidt both parallel axis and crossed axis helicals as standard items in various modules and dp sizes as well as in a choice of materials. The prices that I’ve got don’t mean much as the catalogues must be at least 7 years old, but I think the HPC website has current prices displayed, but you may need to register.

              Keith

AS Said HPC have a good range if you get the spec from the drawings and you don’t need to register to view their products & prices. You could also try GMB, I’ve used them in the past where Boston Gears refs are specified usually on US designs

Reeves do the machined gears but may be more expensive than HPC.
