Despite many loving their products Myford went bust because people voted against them with their wallets.

I don't recall that Myford went "bust" – IIRC they elected to cease trading due to the age of the owner ?

When Cecil Moore, the founder of Myfords, died his son, who was at retirement age, decided to sell the Company. The new owners downsized and did not buy all the stock. This was not a company going bust.

The new owners appear to be making a good go at running a smaller company. I hope that this time of trouble has kept them very busy.

Thinking about it, it may have been Cecil Moore’s grand son who sold the business on the death of Cecil’s son.

Rather than start a new thread i thought maybe this one would be appropriate for this posting.

Any members that know of me will know that i never leave things alone. I am always messing with my machines & get a lot of stick from other forum members for it. For that i am eternally sorry. It is just who & what i am.

So i fancied making a ball turning cutter , device for the Super duper 7. So i began thinking, probably too deeply as i do & came up with an idea. Unfortunately the idea involves 4 video's on youtube that i have just uploaded, after a great deal of time. These video's comprise of over 80 clips that i had to edit.

The whole thing has taken me 2 days to edit & publish. Even now they are not that good, but my best attempt. It involves lots of work using the Super 7 & the Tom Senior milling machine. The cost of the project is pretty much zero. Even if i had had to buy the materials , i guess the cost would be under £20. If you have a Myford lathe then maybe it would be of interest to you. Also if you decide to watch these video's it will be over a hour of your life you will never get back.

The opening shot looks promising, but, my ML7R has the ML7 cross-slide sad
