SWMBO has been looking at lots of design books etc eye and decided to raid my shop for redundant tools she might be able to use indoors decoratively. And so the above collage was put together on in the living room wall. I know many will think it”s a criminal waste of precision tooling but I don”t make anything that big and have enough mics to cover most of the wall.
It looks striking and allows a bit of my hobby indoors.

At least you will be able to find them should the need arise!

Your friends & neighbours will think you’ve become a member of the Masons or some other charitable organisation when they see that! If it’s any consolation – my SWMBO does the the same sort of things!

Yes – but I can imagine the reaction if I started using the chimney breast as extra storage space…

That arrangement is a serious Health and Safety issue. Those micrometers are upside down, and, as per horseshoes, luck will fall out of them. Spilt luck is very dangerous. Better to use Chinese Micrometers; they have built-in Feng Shui. Imperial Chinese micrometers the right way up are much luckier than metric ones. It's something to do with Rabbits having Feet.

I did attempt to line up the thimbles but as Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen (to whom I seem to be married) declared it didn’t look right. So we ended up with this.
The mics are thimble up as the photo is 90 degrees out,so the luck merely dribbled out in a relatively controlled way and it’s easy to mop up.
I’m adding a couple of old dial gauges tomorrow and Neil has spotted my attempts at enlarging my storage space. The cheques in the post so you don’t let on to the Dragon lol.
