If you can find one near you, join a Model Engineering Club.
You may be able to see some of the machines that you consider as "possibles" in use, and become more familiar with them. Be aware, if not already, that the same new machines can be on offer from different suppliers, but are the same machine, with different colour scheme, accessories as part of the package, and warranty.
Also, if you can find suitable (size, capacity, condition one careful; owner rather than several careless ) machinery secondhand, you can get more bang for your buck. Also, a fellow member could come with you (IF we are ever released for 24 hr curfew) to check a potential used machine.
This should get you embroiled in a furious debate about the benefits of an elderly, used British machine vs a new or used Far Eastern product. Just avoid the flying handbags!
