A friend of mine uses a hand pump pressurised spray bottle – 1 litre capacity used by gardeners for spraying pesticide, available at Garden stores – to provide a steady stream water as a coolant when cutting clock jewels with diamond core drill.  I would assume this would work with suds.

              Hi Ian,
The mist coolant sounds like Duplex articles (I think). If so, it would be yonks ago – 1950`s?

Perhaps a smidge off topic but I found that when I first started using suds on a Harrison L5 ( applied with a 1 litre garden centre squirty bottle ), I’d often get staining under the felt wipers on the saddle.

The cure was to remove the little metal covers so the felt was bare – persumably, this  allowed the suds to evaporate more quickly and reduce the time it was in contact with the bed

So perhaps likewise for a mill table, don’t leave any cover on where suds can sit for long periods !

to clear the tee slots of chippings, find a short length of 22mm copper water pipe, and a rubber bung which is a nice fit in the end of your hoover pipe. The make a hole in the bung to be a tight fit on the copper pipe. I used the high tech method of sharpening the end of the tube and hammering it through!. Then flatten the other end of the copper tube to fit into the tee slots. Best used with machines which have a catchpot before the filter bag, mine is an old hoover wet’n’dry. I did use SWMBO’s Dyson a few times, but any cutting fluid tended to muck up the inside, so I desisted before I was caught!
