      […]

For some time I have been paying a lot less at a local garage, 1-39. I have tended to think that the big supplier and supermarkets have been keeping it artifically high.

      .

Did you spot that mine was Momentum ?

      That is Tesco’s 99 octane E5 petrol

I don't think that we do enough recycling / repurposing of "waste" materials. I do miss the scrap yards of my youth were you could wander round with your tools, remove part from an old car and not pay very much for it.

You need to get over to Alfred Loom's in Derby then…

Absolutely massive "pick a part" operation on the main site there (they have multiple).

I have had many a happy hour systemically stripping things out of cars there, they will even oblige with a telehandler to lift heavier components if you ask nicely.

        .

That said working in Waste and Recycling, metals are definitely something that get recovered very intensively…

It's pretty close to being "closed loop", if a man could get another type of material even close to those levels of re-use and recovery he would change the world pretty fundamentally, that's how much metals get recovered.

Having lost my 2 best mates in the last 2 years and ‘inherited’ their material stock I now have enough to keep me going for years. I would much rather pay twice the price or more from the suppliers and have the two of them back.

Makes you realise the things that are of real value.

          regards Martin

My only hope is that I'll die before I run out of money.

My plan is to spend the last of my beloved spondulicks just before the grim reaper arrives. I've looked for a loophole, but you can't take it with you…

            Dave

If I can't take it with me I'm not *** going.

The other plan is to become a right miserable so-and-so, because they never die. Whenever someone shuffles off this mortal coil the relatives always say what a wonderful person he/she was, so miserable gits must never die.
